Las Posadas
π About This Tradition
Las Posadas is a nine-night celebration from December 16-24 reenacting Mary and Joseph's search for lodging in Bethlehem. Participants go door-to-door asking for shelter, singing traditional songs. After being 'rejected' several times, they're finally welcomed inside for food, celebration, and breaking piΓ±atas. Each night represents one month of Mary's pregnancy.
Did You Know?
Traditional star-shaped piΓ±atas have seven points representing the seven deadly sins!
